1. What is your occupation? I am a Convention Services Manager for the Greater Houston Convention & Visitors Bureau

5. What person was the greatest influence on your life? Why? My mother, Miss Lillie Parker Crayton has been my greatest role model for many reasons. She has the most unconditional loving spirit. She has been a wonderful mother to not just my three brothers, nephew and me, but to all of our friends throughout the years. Her dedication to education has always been inspiring. Her meals are “food for the soul”! And without a doubt, she has always been a “praying Mother and warrior”. Her prays have comforted me many of times. She has been my main supporter and encourager. She is unselfish, kind and most giving. For these and many other traits, I constantly seek to emulate her.
6. What was the most memorable moment in your life? I have been so blessed to have had several and pray for many more, but I would to say having met Angela Davis (activist, author and educator) and Avery Brooks (actor) being right at the top!
7. What are some changes you would like to influence in today’s society? My latest project is ecotourism. Ecotourism means while practicing any kind of tourism one should not harm nature. For today's fast changing world only the practice of ecotourism can save nature from ever growing human population. We need to more aware of how we treat the environment and the long term negative consequences that have and will continue to occur. I would like to be apart of the solution, by helping people to better understand this problem and began initiatives to resolve this very critical world-wide issue.
8. What is the best advice you can give young women who consider you a role model? Stay true to yourself. Listen and trust your intuitions. Be focused. Stay strong. Have goals. PRAY. Save and invest your money. Be honest to yourself and others.
9. When people look back at your life, how do you want to be remembered? That I was a passionate, loyal, honest, funny, sincere, nice and good-natured person, always willing to help others.
10. What activities do you enjoy? Reading, dancing, listening to music, traveling, spending long hours in Home Depot and/or Lowe’s, going to plays and concerts.
11. What do you enjoy most about Grand Lady products? Tough question! I love the many options to select from, but my favorite fragrance is Nubian Fig. The “Peppermint Foot & Body Salve” is a daily must have!
